Infused Oils
An infused oil is made by submerging parts of or a whole plant in a carrier oil, in the case of Wandering Herbals, I use only raw local olive oil, which has its own healing properties. It is then left to infuse, usually on a sunny window sill, for at least 6 weeks. By this process all healing parts of the herb are infused into the oil, and you are getting the benefits of the entire plant/flower/leaf, rather than just an extract or one isolated component, like the volatile oils that are distilled to make essential oils.
