This liniment is great to apply before bed if you have sore and stiff muscles, after a hot shower, in the morning before starting up or just whenever you need. Traditional herbs like bay, rosemary and yarrow encourage the flow of fresh blood to the area helping ease stiffness, ginger and pepper bring warmth and peppermint cooling on the skin. Poppy and poplar help loosen any muscular stiffness and bring pain relieving properties. It is gentle, no hot/cold burning sensations, and quite effective, especially if applied several times throughout the day (1-3 applications).

A truly wonderful all round healing salve suitable for all ages, babies, and even pets. If pets or animals lick off the balm, it is harmless. Calendula and plantain have renowned affinity with the skin and healing skin afflictions. Use on fresh and old cuts and grazes, sores, bites, abrasions and open wounds, scar tissue, nappy rash, dry skin on hands or feet, just about anything really. Soothing and calming, gentle yet powerful in its healing. I can personally attest to the medicine in this balm, and it is one of my most popular remedies. Using this balm, cuts that would hang around for weeks are gone, sometimes overnight, no redness or soreness, it helps rapidly clear up infection, and lessens heavy scarring. Massage well into the site several times a day. You can literally feel the wound getting smaller as you rub the balm in.
Keep the lid on in a cool place and it should last upwards of two years.

This balm has a blend of my own herbs and some wild plants. The weed Plantain will grow virtually anywhere, but I like to gather mine from a particular spot by a stream, where both narrow and broad-leaved varieties grow lush. The calendulas are homegrown, 5/6th generation seedlings from my original plantings. The leaves and flowers are both infused separately in olive oil for 6 weeks, in the warm summer sunshine. When the oils are ready the orange calendula smells like honey, and the deep green plantain like a fermented salami! Rest assured, this is a good sign, and the scent doesn’t really translate into the balm. Fragrant beeswax is added to create the finished product.
